A native of the Texas Panhandle, Severyn received her undergraduate degree from Lubbock Christian University where she was a member of the women’s basketball team. She first began working in orthopedics as a medical assistant while in high school and then again after graduating from LCU. She relocated to St. Louis to receive her physician assistant education at Saint Louis University, where she was a member of the Alpha Eta Honor Society.

Severyn joined Dr. Young’s practice upon graduating from SLU and enjoys providing thorough, personalized care to each and every patient. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the St. Louis region with her husband and 2 dogs.

She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Missouri Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopedic Surgery.

Amy Peterson, a Certified Medical Assistant, has been a key member of Dr. Young’s staff since 2011. Whether educating patients on the surgical preoperative and postoperative procedures they will be undergoing or taking after hour phone calls to address any patient concerns, Amy is known to make each of her patients feel comfortable and valued – from the time they undergo their initial evaluation until the time they are fully recovered.

Amy began her medical career in 1988 and eventually started her own transcription business/owner until her transition into her position with Dr. Young. She currently works as the office’s patient coordinator with responsibilities to include scheduling patient appointments and surgeries, coordinating tests, worker’s compensation liaison, as well as attending to their informational needs.

Married and the mother of two sons, one daughter, and two grandsons, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, listening to live music, and enjoys photography. Amy takes great pride in delivering high-level care to her patients.

Colleen has been a valued member of our team since 2015. She has played many roles, most notable of them all as the welcoming face of the front desk at Advanced Orthopedics prior to our transition to Motion. Colleen now shares the duties of running Dr. Young’s clinic. She assists with various aspects of the practice including patient care coordinator, appointment scheduler, and worker’s compensation coordinator.

Colleen is a product of Nerinx Hall High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Communication/Marketing from Rockhurst University.

In her free time, she can be found spending time with her husband anticipating the arrival of their son. She also enjoys running and exploring the local parks.
